AEHS Members' Bulletin Board

The AEHS Bulletin Board allows AEHS members to communicate about aircraft engines and other related topics. The Board presently has several categories (such as Help, Air Racing, Collections/Restorations, Discussion, Members Only (private) and Wants/Disposals, etc.) Within each category are one or more forums.

We encourage every AEHS member to use the capabilities of the Bulletin Board.

The Board is organized in a hierarchical fashion:

Category
__Forum
__Forum...
____Topic
____Topic...
______Post
______Post...
Category...

Some of the Categories and Forums are public. While only AEHS members can post to them, anyone with Internet access can read them. Others are private, are designated so in their title, and are hidden from anyone who is not an AEHS member. We encourage AEHS members to post messages in the public forums when possible. This allows us to share the wealth of our collective knowledge with both AEHS members and non-members alike.

Signing on the First Time

Before you access the Board for the first time, please read the Guide for New Users:

http://www.enginehistory.org/BB/AEHSBBUsersGuide.htm

You might also find it useful to read the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) found behind a link in the upper right of the Bulletin Board Forum Index (home) page. Please bear in mind that the FAQ is of a general nature and may have information that does not pertain to this particular implementation.

You will note that you can see quite a lot of the Bulletin Board without logging in. You can read these sections, but you cannot post messages to them. These are the public sections. In order to gain full use of the Board and to post messages, you must log in.

Before you log in for the first time, please read and understand the rules by which the AEHS Bulletin Board operates (below). Logging in at any time constitutes acceptance of these rules.

Logging In

Click the Log in link at the top of the Forum Index page. Enter the Username and Password provided in this e-mail. Go immediately to the Profile link and change your password from the machine-generated one that came with this e-mail to one that is more meaningful to you. To do this, you must enter your machine generated Password once and your own Password twice. Please record your new password and keep it in a safe place. Then scroll down to the bottom of the Profile page and click Submit. Your Password is now changed. Once your password is entered, it is stored in an encrypted form, making it impossible for anyone other than yourself to know your password.

Please leave the other Profile settings unchanged until you have become more familiar with the Board and understand how changes in Profile settings will affect your interaction with the Board. The Administrators have chosen the most benign settings, so it is unlikely that you will want to change anything other than your time presentation.

After you have clicked Submit to change your password, you will see a window telling you that the change has been successful and allowing you to return to the Forum Index.

Now that the real work is done, sit back and enjoy the Board! One of the things that is a constant source of amazement to those of us who read your mail and process your requests is the high level of expertise among AEHS members and the sheer volume of history represented. We sincerely hope that all AEHS members can enjoy getting to know their fellow members as much as we have.

The Board Administrators have sent this e-mail to everyone who is a member and who has provided an e-mail address. If for some reason you do not want to participate in the AEHS Bulletin Board, please send an e-mail to bbadmin@enginehistory.org from the e-mail account that this e-mail was addressed to and we will remove you from the Board.

TERMS and CONDITIONS of USE
These are the rules by which the AEHS Bulletin Board operates. Please read and understand them. By logging in to the AEHS Bulletin Board at any time, you acknowledge that you agree to abide by these rules when on the Board. These rules are subject to change without notice. A current copy is posted in the Bulletin Board Help Category.

The Fine Print

All material is posted to the board with the understanding that it is being made available for the benefit of the AEHS membership and the general public without obligation. This Board is provided on an as-is, as-available basis. No warranties whatsoever are made for its availability or use.

While the administrators and moderators of this Board will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material (as defined by them) as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to this Board express the views and opinions of the authors and not the administrators, moderators or webmaster (except for posts by these people) and hence will not be held liable. You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned. The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit.

As a user you agree to any information you have entered above being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent and while all reasonable effort is made to safeguard the data, webmasters, administrators and moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

This Bulletin Board uses cookies to store information on your local computer. These cookies do not contain any of the information you have entered; they serve only to improve your viewing pleasure. The e-mail address is used only for confirming your registration details and password (and for sending new passwords should you forget your current one).

Logging in to the AEHS Bulletin Board constitutes acceptance of these terms.
