It sure sounds like the real thing as it revs up.

Visible V-8 - an old modeler's staple. Originally tooled by Renwal, Revell-Monogram has the tools now and is still in the re-issue rotation. The also have the tools for the Visible Airplane Engine (R-1340 Wasp), which hasn't been re-issued for years. A friend of mine still has an original Renwal Visible Airplane Engine in the box, which he never started to build.

The Revell/Renwall radial is like gold dust; 1200 US dollars on this website!

(I missed a chance to buy one twenty years ago as I was out with my nephews; I saw one and thought I would buy it a week later. It was gone!) The 1/3 visible Wankel engine is worth quite a bit. Haynes/Airfix have the four cylinder,V-8 models on the market, but I think the most impressive for kids is the jet engine that they do.

If you are a collector, the Wingnut Wings AEG aircraft is a keeper.

The following have reproduced the famous Allison turbo-prop model kit.

They are supposed to produce a Wasp engine model kit(Renwall?) in May.

They only send to USA and Canada.

I recently completed the Allison 501D re-release.

It was a fun kit, the two stage gear system in the gearbox is reduced to roughly 8:1, not the 13.54:1 of the actual engine but it does work. I was really surprised with how accurate the accessories are and ducting are.

That's an impressive kit! Hope they do end up producing some piston aircraft engines too.

Atlantis Model's STEM re-issue of the 1/12th scale Wright radial engine kit is available from AMAZON USA for $40 dollars, and they sent one to me in UK. (Atlantis don't mail outside North America)

https://www.amazon.com/Wright-Cyclone-Engine-Plastic-Atlantis/dp/B09DYGSRYT/ref=sr_1_2?crid=3NRBFETY9HA42&keywords=atlantis+engine&qid=1645786038&sprefix=atlantis+engin%2Caps%2C338&sr=8-2

The turbo prop model is showing on AMAZON UK for ?50, but AMAZON USA have it at $50.
