Reductions (Canada)

Reductions engines are converted from Subaru automobile engines and are built and marketed by the Reductions firm of Dugald, Manitoba, Canada. Reductions' first products were the manufacture of belt-driven Propeller Speed Reduction Units (PSRU's) to reduce propeller rpm from that of engine rpm. Over the years, Reductions has built PSRU's with several reduction ratios, but the most recent listings (KP4/02, 4/03) give reductions of 0.426, 0.476, and 0.543. From about 2000, Reductions also has been producing complete Subaru conversions and these are listed below. The firm does not have a Website, but lists a telephone number of (204) 853-7998. Most of the information here has been compiled from the "Kitplanes" (KP) and "Sport Aviation" (SA) magazines and the Kitplanes Magazine Website. All of these engines are non-certificated engines for use in experimental, homebuilt aircraft.
