Mudry engines were built by Moteurs Mudry-Buchoux, a part of Avions Mudry et cie of Bernay, France. Auguste Mudry's original aircraft modification and repair firm, C.A.A.R.P. of Beynes, France, was founded in 1958. In 1965, C.A.A.R.P. took over production of the Scintex Super Emeraude and C.P. 100. This production ended in 1970, when Avions Mudry was formed to assume production of the CAP 10 and CAP 20 in the facilities of the former Société Aéronautique Normande in Bernay. Integration of C.A.A.R.P. operations into Avions Mudry was completed in 1977. Avions Mudry is well known for their CAP series of aircraft; e.g., the CAP 10, CAP 20, CAP 21, CAP 231, etc., and also built this HOAE, which may be derived from a Porsche or VW auto engine.
